What is Pxz Place?
Pxz Place is a family-owned, female-led, environmentally conscious (trust me, most of the artwork is littered with recycled goods!), small business, and artist haven. Brimming with creativity and wonder, Resident artist, “Pxz” and Daughter/Manager, Lauren decided to officially open for online business at the start of 2021.
From watercolor paintings, resin castings, to assemblage mixed media, we seek to create a world outside of the norm. Our focus is to explore the fantasy, macabre and empower those who need it most. All while settling into our new home in Los Angeles, CA. At Pxz Place there’s an emphasis on the divine feminine, appreciation for the past, and most of all, the idea of self-love and self-acceptance. Upon first glance, one may notice a breadth of vintage and eclectic reimaginings, alongside some more spooky or downright kooky creations. But these are all of what makes Pxz Place, Pxz’s! (Tongue twister here we come!)
We invite you to explore all that we have to offer and let us know how we’re doing! As first-time business owners, we’re happy to have your support!
How it all started
Much like the rest of the world, Pxz and her family were hit hard by the 2020 pandemic. And for the first few months, the worst that came was the inevitable layoffs. Unfortunately, things took a tragic turn as Pxz’s husband died due to complications of Covid-19. States away from her only daughter, Lauren, Pxz decided to move across the country to live with her in Los Angeles, CA. Months later, it was decided. From the wake of devastation, Pxz would channel the love, grief, passion, and creativity into the thing that brought her most solace, her artwork. From here, Pxz Place was born.
Pxz Place is the reimagining of life— post-loss —for Pxz and Lauren. While she creates one-of-a-kind curios and miniature artworks, you can find Lauren handling all online and back-of-house tasks. (Not to mention chauffeuring Pxz around the big city from time to time.) From their shared 900 square foot apartment, the duo are hoping to build a new sense of home and support in the creative throws of the LA art scene.
